Strong quake measuring 6.6 Richter scale struck western part of Java Island of Indonesia on Tuesday, potential for tsunami, but no report of damage or casualty, meteorology and disaster management agencies said here.
In western and southern parts of Lampung province of Sumatra Island, where the intensity of the quake was felt, the strongest, there were no report of building damages or casualty, an official of National Disaster Management Agency named only Zainy said.
"There was no report of casualty or damages at Lampung," she told Xinhua.
The quake struck at 10:07 Jakarta time (0310 GMT) with the epicentre at 125 kilometers northwest of Ujungkulon of West Java and at 20 kilometers under sea bed, the agency said. |
