In recent years， Wuhan Municipal Government insists the opening oriented policies and environmental renovation， and the investment environment of the city has been continuously improved．At one hand， a series of important infrastructure projects have been finished， such as Wuhan International Airport， Airport Super Highway， No．2 Yangtze River Bridge， No．3 Yangtze River Bridge， middle circle highway， international container port， program phone system， broad band network， water plant， power plant and waste water treatment plant， etc．
Projects such as around-city highway， 7 major rapid outlet highways， Yangluo Yangtze Bridge， Tianxinzhou Yangtze Bridge， 3rd- phrase Yangluo Power Plant are under construction， enlargement of Tianhe airport， etc．All these have largely improved the city functions．Wuhan also enjoy first level ecological environment in China．Water resource is one of its special advantages with 25% of the total city area are covered by rivers and lakes．
At the other hand， we improved the soft environment by changing the government function．We set up the Foreign Investment United Service Center， and established the system of regular meeting between mayor and foreign investor representatives， the foreign investor complaint system and the investment environment duty system．
After the inspection on Wuhan’s investment environment， United Nation Industry Development Organization appraised Wuhan as the best place for foreign investment in central and west part of China．Through half year’s investigation and evaluation， Shanghai-Hongkong Yangtze River Development Promotion Association made a conclusion that Wuhan is the city with best environment within 15 large sized cities along the Yangtze River． |
