A press conference was held by Hubei Provincial Government at 2008 Beijing International Press Center at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon, introducing Hubei province and Three Gorges to all over the world through media.
The level of Hubei economic and social development ranks in the front places in Central China. The province has plenty of natural resources, and is the major production base of food grains, cotton and oils and the largest production base of fresh water products. Hubei is also one of the largest iron and steel base and the second largest auto producing base in China. Dongfeng Auto Group and Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation are in Top 500 Enterprises in China. Hubei has established economic communication with over 160 countries and districts. 66 Fortune 500 enterprises has invested in Hubei province. |
