- Wuhan-Manchester Week opens in Wuhan
The opening ceremony of Wuhan-Manchester Week was held in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, on November 1, 2016, where the Wuhan-Manchester Memorandum on Climate Change and Environmental Protection was inked between the two sides.
The Wuhan-Manchester Week will highlight the roundtable of university exchanges, symposium focusing on city and cooperation of city clusters, panel discussion between bilateral enterprises and a series of cultural and art exchange activities.
2016 marks the 30th anniversary of establishment of the sister-city relationship between Wuhan and Manchester. Both the two cities have launched serveral activities to celebrate, including the Wuhan Week held in Manchester this July, which has greatly promoted the comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
At present, Wuhan boasts around 40 international air lines, and the new linking Wuhan and London is under planning, according to Wan Yong, mayor of Wuhan at the opening ceremony. (hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
